Just a Thought
Money cannot buy love, happiness or friends; it can buy a nice place to be lonely. Trying to buy friends only gets you enemies who are leeches and have more money to spend on weapons to hurt you.
Love and compassion cannot buy you anything, but can be given. They may be rejected, but the value is still there.
Compassion by guilt is not really compassion, only appeasement.

aiding another financially, with the assumption that it is "buying" them, implying a beholden relationship is morally corrupt behavior.
giving, for the sake of giving is never a wasted practice.
when our cup runs full, it can either spill to the ground or to the cups of others.
it can either be a benifit enjoyed or an excess bottled and wasted.
when one seeks to better another, or to help another it should always be with helping them help 'themselves' in mind. help should never, ever be an invitation to obedience.
it should be only what we would wish, were we to be in the other shoes.
